On Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, Eric Garner remained the focus of much of America, including Hollywood. Celebrities including Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Chris Rock,
Aaron Paul and Shonda Rhimes expressed outrage on social media over a Staten Island grand jury's decision not to indict the officer who was videotaped placing Garner in a chokehold until he died. "This world just got so much scarier. RIP Eric Garner & God bless his family during this time of…," tweeted Minaj, adding an Instagram link to a transcript of Garner's last words, including the repeated phrase, "I can't breathe." Legend tweeted simply, "I am stunned by the failure to indict Eric Garner's killer. I. CAN'T. BREATHE.' God Damn," while Rock posted, "This one was on film." "Breaking Bad" alum Paul also vented online, tweeting, "How do "crazy" cops keep getting away with this?!? He murdered that man. Stop the madness. #EricGarner #ICantBreathe." Asked Rhimes: "How is this America? #ICantBreathe."
