24-Hour Curfew Reviewed And Reduced To 11-Hours By Governor Ibrahim Gaidam Of Yobe State.

Following the attack by suspected Boko Haram militants in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, the government of the state on Tuesday reviewed the 24-hour curfew imposed on Monday to 11 hours.

Both human and vehicular movement would only be allowed between 7a.m. and 6p.m. daily till further notice.

In a statement Tuesday night, the government said the review came "following discussions with heads of law enforcement agencies in the State in which the ongoing security efforts within Damaturu metropolis were reviewed.

"His Excellency Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has approved a review of the 24-hour curfew imposed earlier in the town today, the governor's spokesperson said.

"Members of the general public can therefore move freely between the hours of 7a.m. and 6.00p.m. as the curfew will start from 6.00PM daily.

Going forward, the curfew hours will be reviewed further on the basis of recommendations from the heads of law enforcement agencies in the State, the statement added.
